Zoom H1N Firmware 1.21: The Complete Guide to Updating, Features, and Fixes
Problem 1: “File Not Found” or “Update Failed”
- A computer (Mac or Windows).
- A microSD card (formatted to FAT32).
- Fresh batteries (Alkaline or fully charged NiMH). Do not attempt an update with low battery.
The primary function of this firmware update was to add functionality and resolve power issues when using expansion modules.
- Download: Go to Zoom’s official website (zoomcorp.com) > Support > Downloads > H1n. Download the
H1N_V121.zip file.
- Extract: Unzip the folder. Inside, you will find a file named
H1N_SYS.BIN. Do not rename this file.
- Copy: Using an SD card reader (not the H1n itself), drag the
H1N_SYS.BIN file onto the root (main directory) of your SD card.
- Install: Put the SD card into the H1n. Hold down the Menu button while powering the device on. Keep holding until you see "Firmware Update." Select "Execute" and wait 30 seconds.
