Zeus Z3 Digital Lock Manual: A Comprehensive Guide
- Remove Old Lock: Remove your existing deadbolt. Ensure the crossbore hole (the large face hole) is 54mm (2.1 inches) in diameter.
- Install Latch: Insert the latch into the edge bore, ensuring the "UP" marking faces the sky. Secure it with the two screws. Crucial step: Make sure the latch is fully retracted (not sticking out) when the key is vertical.
- Install Strike Plate: Attach the strike plate to the door frame, ensuring the hole aligns perfectly with the latch.
- Place Exterior Panel: Feed the cable through the top hole of the latch. Push the exterior panel flat against the door.
- Mount Interior Plate: Attach the mounting plate (backplate) over the cable, sliding the spindle through the center. Secure it with the three screws provided.
- Connect Cable: Plug the ribbon cable into the port on the rear panel. Do not pinch the wires.
- Attach Interior Panel: Slide the rear panel onto the mounting plate. Tighten the two screws inside the battery compartment.
- Battery Power: Insert 4 AA batteries (Alkaline only—do not use rechargeable). You should hear a long beep. The keypad will flash.
If you have forgotten the Master Code or the lock behaves erratically, a hard reset is required.
- Lock not responding: Check the battery level and replace the batteries if necessary.
- Incorrect code: Make sure you are entering the correct code.
- Fingerprint not recognized: Make sure your fingerprint is registered correctly.
