Following the death of her father, Aída García returns to her working-class childhood neighborhood (Esperanza Sur). She has inherited the family home and must now share it with her overbearing mother, Eugenia, and her freeloading brother, Luisma. Alongside them are her two troublesome children, Lorena and Jonathan.
