To use or manage God of War 2 save data in (or its successor, NetherSX2), you need to work with Virtual Memory Cards Save States

AetherSX2

God of War 2 remains a flagship title for PS2 emulation, and on Android, is the go‑to emulator. Getting save data working—whether your own backups or downloaded 100% completed saves—requires knowing where AetherSX2 stores memory cards and how to import them.

  • Use Slot 2: Save your game to Memory Card Slot 2 (you must set this in AetherSX2 > Controller/Device Settings > Port 2: Memory Card). God of War 2 has fewer conflicts with Slot 2.
  • You will see default files here: Mcd001.ps2 and Mcd002.ps2 .

Step 3: Using a direct Memory Card replacement (Simpler)

Inside memcards , you will see your save data container.

    1. Rename it to match your slot: Mcd001.ps2 (Back up your original first).
    2. Replace the file in the memcards folder.
    3. Launch AetherSX2 → Start God of War 2 → "Load Game."
