To use (developed by Monect), you must install the server-side software on your computer to allow it to receive commands from a mobile device. While newer versions like 7.8.1 are now common, version 7.2.1 remains a stable choice for users needing legacy compatibility. 1. Installation & Setup
- Operating System: Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7, or later.
- Processor: 1 GHz or faster processor.
- RAM: 2 GB or more RAM.
User benefit: Muscle memory. The remote "just knows" what you want to do in each app.
Firewall Configuration: The installer will prompt you to allow Pc Remote Receiver 7.2.1 through Windows Defender Firewall. You must check Private networks (Home/Work) but uncheck Public networks for security.
The Tray Icon: After installation, look for the grey "satellite dish" icon in your system tray. Right-click it and select Version Info to verify you see v7.2.1.
