Introduction to NFPA 30

dispensing or use

Many people think you cannot store any flammable liquid in a non-rated area. Not true. NFPA 30 allows storage in "ordinary areas" if the quantity is less than the control area limit. However, the of Class I liquids must occur at least 25 feet from any ignition source (Open flames, welding, hot surfaces, unclassified electrical equipment).

Explosion Hazard Evaluation:

The 2024 edition explicitly requires documented explosion hazard evaluations for Class IA liquids stored in containers larger than 1 gallon.

Overview:

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 30 standard provides guidelines for the safe storage and handling of flammable and combustible liquids. To help facilities and professionals comply with these regulations, we propose a feature that provides a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation (PPT) guide on NFPA 30.

However, NFPA 30 is notoriously dense. Spanning over 50 pages of technical language, tables, and cross-references, it can overwhelm even seasoned professionals. This is where a well-designed (PowerPoint presentation) becomes invaluable.
