- Wiring Repair: If damaged wires are found, they are spliced and repaired, or the harness section is replaced.
- Motor Replacement: If the actuator motor is dead, it often requires replacing the entire headlight unit on some Mercedes models, as the motors are sometimes integrated into the housing. On other models (like the W204 C-Class or W212 E-Class), the motors are replaceable separately.
- Calibration: After replacement, the headlight beams must be recalibrated using the diagnostic tool to ensure the correct range of motion.
- Inexpensive scanners sometimes produce garbled hex output instead of standard P or U codes.
