Review: Hzdx.shx Font
- Always use
ETRANSMIT – check "Include fonts" to send Hzdx.shx with the drawing.
- Set a fallback font – In
OPTIONS → Files → Text Editor, Dictionary, and Font File Names → Alternate Font File: simplex.shx.
- Avoid exploding text – Convert SHX text to MTEXT if needed, but exploding creates thousands of tiny lines.
- Use standard styles – If working internationally, stick to
Romans.shx + Bigfont.shx combinations.
- Stroke Quality: The strokes are cleaner than the standard Txt.shx, offering a slightly more "technical pen" feel, but it lacks the elegance of Romans.shx. It appears somewhat jagged at small point sizes on high-DPI screens but prints cleanly.
- Vertical Alignment: This is its standout feature. In many East Asian architectural standards, text is often read vertically (top-to-bottom, right-to-left). Hzdx.shx handles this vertical spacing much better than many modern TrueType (TTF) alternatives, maintaining consistent line weights when characters are rotated 90 degrees.
