Huawei Hg659 Firmware Update !!install!! -
Introduction
- Check with your ISP first – Ask: “Can you push the latest firmware to my HG659?”
- Do not manually update unless absolutely necessary or directed by support.
- If your HG659 is working fine, do not update. Only update if you face security alerts, constant disconnections, or UI bugs.
- Consider a replacement – The HG659 is an older 802.11ac Wave1 router. If you have speed issues or many devices, upgrading to a modern Wi-Fi 6 router (in bridge mode) is a better long-term solution.
- Your HG659 is stable and working.
- You plan to replace the router soon (HG659 is outdated – max Wi-Fi 5/ac).
- Your ISP no longer supports the HG659 (many have moved to newer models).
- Wait 5 minutes after the reboot. The power light should be solid green/blue.
- Log back into
192.168.1.1. - Check the Software Version again. It should match the new version number.
- Restore your backup settings: If the update reset your router to factory defaults, go to Maintenance → Settings → Restore and upload your
.cfgbackup.
