Activating your HPE SmartCache license is a straightforward process handled through HPE's management utilities. SSH into the server (or use local console)

  1. SSH into the server (or use local console).
  2. Run the command to list controllers:
    ssacli ctrl all show config
    
    Note the controller slot number (usually 1 or 2).
  3. Install the license key:
    ssacli ctrl slot=1 license key=XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX
    
  4. Verify installation:
    ssacli ctrl slot=1 show detail
    
    You should see: "Controller License Type: HPE Smart Cache"
