Fenix A320 QRH — Professional Overview

Without the QRH:

Hydraulic Green System Failure

Imagine you have a . Your brakes will work, but you have no anti-skid. Your landing distance will be significantly longer.

  1. Using the QRH as a First Response: Never. Fly the airplane first. Memory items > ECAM > QRH.
  2. Skipping the "Rationale": The QRH often has notes in italics. Read them. They explain why you are doing something, which helps you adapt if the situation changes.
  3. Ignoring the "Recall" Items: Some failures have items you must check that are not on the ECAM. For example, after an electrical failure, the QRH has a "Recall" section to check the battery voltage manually on the overhead panel.
  4. Not Simulating the "Time Delay": In a real jet, pulling out the QRH, flipping pages, and reading takes 15-20 seconds. In the sim, pilots pause the sim. For true realism, unpause the sim and practice one-handed flying while clicking your EFB.
