Deep Freeze Standard 9.0.20.5760: The Ultimate Guide to Instant System Recovery
Configuration best practices
Deep Freeze protects and preserves a system image: once the system is configured and “frozen,” any subsequent changes (software installs, settings changes, malware, user files written to frozen volumes) are discarded on reboot and the system returns to the frozen baseline.
It operates at a low level by intercepting write operations to the protected volumes and redirecting them to a temporary overlay. That overlay is non-persistent and cleared on reboot unless the volume is put into Thawed mode or data is stored on an exempted location.
