Gameplay Features:
: You must download, install, and launch the game at least once while online to verify your license and files. Steam Offline Mode
- Steam Offline Mode Expired: Steam requires you to reconnect to the internet every few weeks to refresh your login tokens. If you see "Unable to connect to Steam network," plug in a hotspot, go online for 10 seconds, then go offline again.
- Windows Firewall: Incredibly ironic, but sometimes the game tries to phone home to a PlayWay analytics server. If that request times out because the server is blocked (but the game still waits for the reply), the game may hang. Try launching the game while online, then tab out and disable Wi-Fi after the main menu loads.
- Save Syncing: Do not close Steam while it is "Syncing" cloud saves. Wait for the sync to finish, then go offline.
- Different truck models and sizes
- Various cargo types, such as containers, crates, and vehicles
- Install Contraband Police via Steam while connected to Wi-Fi.
- Launch the game completely once. Play through the tutorial (or just get to the main menu).
- Exit the game.
- Go to Steam’s top-left menu > Go Offline.
- Restart Steam. You are now in Offline Mode.
- Launch Contraband Police.
What you lose offline:
In this state, all core features are available. You can search cars, issue fines, shoot smugglers, and upgrade your checkpoint. Leaderboards, Steam Achievements (they will pop when you reconnect), and any potential "Live Weather" updates (though the game uses a deterministic weather system, so this is negligible). contraband police offline
