- Turn off the printer.
- Hold down the Stop/Reset button.
- Press and hold the Power button (keep holding Power).
- Release the Stop/Reset button.
- Press the Stop/Reset button twice (while still holding Power).
- Release the Power button.
- The green power light will flash and then stay solid. You are now in Service Mode.
- Download the Canon Microcontroller USB Driver (search forums – it’s a tiny .inf file).
- Right-click the
.inffile → Install.
- Run the installation file: Open the folder where you extracted the files and run the installation file.
- Follow the installation prompts: Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation process.
- Connect your printer: Connect your Canon printer to your computer using a USB cable.
- Launch the software: Launch the Canon Service Tool V5306 resetter software.
Do:
- Extract the downloaded .zip or .rar file (use WinRAR or 7-Zip).
- Right-click on
ST5306.exeand select Run as Administrator. - Connect your printer via USB (wireless usually does not work in Service Mode).
- Click the radio button for "Absorber Counter".
- Check the box for "Main".
- Click "Set". The counter should drop to 0%.
