4.1 Reverse Engineering Strategy

The .art format is proprietary. There is currently capable of opening an .art file directly without ArtCAM software installed.

• How it works: Install ArtCAM Explorer. Open your .art file. Use "File > Export > 3D Model."
• Formats supported: STL, OBJ, VRML, DXF, AI, EPS, PDF.
• Limitation: You cannot edit the file, only view and export.
• Best for: One-time conversions (e.g., a user with 200 old files who just needs STLs).

1. Open VCarve Pro or Aspire.
2. Go to File -> Import -> Import ArtCAM Model.
3. Select your .art or .rlp file.
4. Once imported, use File -> Export -> Export 3D Model (choose STL, OBJ, or DXF).
